I STARTED as a journalist at London Broadcasting Corporation reporting on cricket matches. Although I soon moved into print journalism I kept in touch with radio and broadcast often for LBC, the BBC and other radio stations. This included presenting several programmes ranging from a LBC AM show, through a Radio 4 financial programme, to BBC World Service news. Although my friends joked that I had the ideal face for radio, I also appeared often on television both as a guest and at times presenting programmes for both the BBC and Channel 4. In January 2007 I became the first Sports Editor of the BBC with a brief to cover sports for television, radio and online. |
